December 2, 1959, past 21 p.m., a deafening noise resounds in the night. The Malpasset dam has just given way, a gigantic wave is breaking over Fréjus and sweeping away everything in its path. The toll is heavy: 423 victims are counted and no family is spared.
Today, the ruins of the dam still lie in the valley and offer an opportunity to perform an autopsy of this terrible tragedy.
