To make your organization easier, we have provided 8 key points for visiting Fréjus as a couple...
01
Take a breath of fresh air at the VILLEPEY PONDS
Between the fine sandy beach and the Argens river, the Villepey ponds are a unique and preserved oasis, within reach of the city!
This is our "little Camargue", a refuge for more than 220 animal species. By following its paths, become again that child who hides behind a bush, holds his breath and opens his eyes wide to observe the pink flamingos, the herons, the bitterns or even the booted eagles! It is a "blissful hunt" where each animal encounter is a precious gift that we bring back in a photo. Here, nature is beautiful, peaceful, generous in everything.

This little extra that we recommend to you can be summed up in one word "TIME": nature is earned and for that it invites patience, calm and contemplation. Hidden in a shelter provided for this purpose, armed with your camera or simply a smartphone, capture these encounters that will continue, once you return home, to be talked about...
02
Stroll through the Provencal market in the HISTORIC HEART
Here, it starts with a coffee, in this unmissable place: the Place de la Mairie, protected by the shade of our bell tower, a few meters from the oldest baptistery in France. Who can beat that?
Then, we set off to explore the stands to find that little piece that is essential for trendy looks, find inspiration for lunch or dinner or even the object that, once we get home, will remind us "we were there". And this stroll through the market ends as it began: on a terrace.

Take the alleys to enter the workshops of the CIRCUIT DES MÉTIERS D'ART. Beautiful human encounters in perspective.
03
Let off steam on the nature base!
It is a 135-hectare playground, the largest green space in the heart of a city in France, between sea and history which is offered to you!
Another 50 hectares are intended for sports and leisure activities: swimming pool (for swimming in rainy weather even though it never rains here!), street area (skateboarding, rollerblading, BMX), mini skate park (200m2 reserved for beginners and children aged 8 to 12), beach volleyball court, bowling alley... There is even an area of equipment to build muscle outdoors and continue to take care of yourself, even in break mode.
This moment between sport and nature would not be complete without a PICNIC under the pine forest.
And here, who says "picnic" says Provençal specialty. You have your "Bratwurst Sandwich"; we have our “Pan Bagnat”.
Some will tell you that it is a specialty of Nice but we have the best with its fresh, seasonal ingredients and produced here! You will find it at PITCHOUN CABANE (attention: it is advisable to book it in advance).
04
Taking a second breath of fresh air: THE CUSTOMS OFFICERS' PATH
Long ago, it was used by customs officers looking for smugglers and marauders.
The little ones from Fréjus used to fish with a landing net, from cove to cove, while the older ones fished for sea urchins on foot and enjoyed a good sea urchin meal as a picnic aperitif (If this type of fishing tempts you: be careful! It is very regulated: only from November 1st to April 15th, with a minimum catch size of 5 cm without spines, limited to 4 dozen sea urchins per fisherman per day maximum).
And each cove that reveals itself to you is an invitation to sit down and enjoy the sea spray, this silence punctuated by the sound of the water, in a serenity that makes you feel alone in the world.

The drop-off in the Parc Aréca, a garden created in the 19th century to admire its collections of ancient trees, its exceptional palm grove and all the most beautiful Mediterranean vegetation has to offer by the sea.

Going on a shooting: THE HISTORIC HEART
The maze of alleys, the flower-filled windows, the carriage doors are like new photo studios. And each time, like us, they surprise us by offering us details that we had not seen previously. It is the ideal place for two people to immortalize your stay with us. There is no time, no special moment; just let yourself be guided by your curiosity and capture yourself together in the present moment.

Sit on a terrace and, over a tea or a mint water, show each other the photos taken and, in the moment, share them on your networks.
06
Taste peace and serenity: THE CLOISTER OF FRÉJUS
For its history, for its interior beauty, for the feeling of peace that invades us once inside, the cloister is worth the detour: it represents a remarkable witness to the medieval history of Provence.
But not only that: the painted decoration that covered the ceilings at the time is exceptional. The 300 images that remain today invite you to play: "Which animal was painted?", "How many are there?", "Who is real or imaginary?", But shh: we won’t tell you any more…

Just behind the cloister, stop at the archaeological museum whose rooms are part of the entire episcopal group. Another time, another universe but the same reassuring stones: immerse yourself in Romanity… To see: the model reconstructing Fréjus in Roman times.
07
The BIGGEST Sunday MARKET
The market takes up residence on the seafront every Sunday. It sells fruits and vegetables, local and producer products, cheese, fish and seafood, butcher's products and delicatessen products, flowers and plants as well as clothing, utensils, furniture, toys and other non-food products.
A popular place for strolling among the people of Fréjus, who come here to do their shopping, it is not possible to imagine a break on the terrace: coffee before starting the visit or afterwards, with an aperitif. The ideal: treat yourself to a gourmet brunch while enjoying the rays of the sun before diving into the beautiful blue sea.

Go see the regular pétanque players at Place de la République. A guaranteed spectacle of challenges, jokes and good humour. On this square, pétanque reigns supreme: Fréjus is the Côte d'Azur Pétanque Capital and with its club, Fréjus International Pétanque, it has the best players in the world, from French champions to World Champions.
