In Fréjus, dogs are welcome

The Côte d'Azur has a warm welcome for you and your four-legged friend with two specially designed dog beaches: Plage du Pacha and part of Saint-Aygulf Beach. These beaches are perfect for enjoying unforgettable moments by the sea, while respecting everyone's well-being.

The benefits of the sea for your dog

The beach and the sea offer your dog a multitude of benefits. One of the most obvious is swimming, an excellent exercise for his cardio-respiratory system, muscles and joints. Swimming also tones the skin and provides total relaxation. The sand and water provide an ideal playground for dogs: running, digging and playing in the waves.

Advice

for a successful visit

However, the sea also poses some risks for our four-legged friends. Salt water can irritate the skin and paw pads, causing itching and discomfort. Ingesting sea water can cause digestive upsets, such as vomiting or diarrhea, due to the excess salt. Waves and currents can surprise dogs that are not used to swimming, especially vulnerable breeds like bulldogs. Jellyfish and sea urchins also pose a potential hazard. If your dog is curious, he may be tempted to eat them, which can cause serious injuries.

Tips for a successful beach trip

To ensure your dog has a safe day at the beach, here are some precautions to take:

  • 1. Hydration: remember to bring fresh water and a bowl so your dog can quench his thirst.
  • 2. Protection from heat: Provide your dog with a shady place to rest and avoid heatstroke.
  • 3. Rinse after swimming: After a sea bath, rinse your dog with fresh water to remove salt and sand, which can irritate his skin.
  • 4. The life jacket is essential for your dog's safety during water activities such as canipaddle.
  • 5. Constant supervision: Always remain vigilant when your dog is in or near water so that you can intervene quickly if a problem arises.
  • By following these tips, you can fully enjoy the sea with your dog while ensuring its safety and well-being.
