The olive tree is a timeless symbol of Fréjus, rooted in the Mediterranean landscape since Roman times. Once used for its resilience and its precious fruit, the olive tree and olive oil have spanned the centuries, testifying to the know-how and richness of this land. In Fréjus, this tradition continues, offering today's generations an authentic product, imbued with the history and soul of Provence.
A family passion rooted in tradition
Le Moulin de Magali, run by Magali Lovera, is a true tribute to the taste of Provence and preserved traditions. A descendant of the Lovera family, settled on this land since 1908, Magali today perpetuates a legacy of resilience and know-how. Initially dedicated to dairy farming, the family farm had to reinvent itself after the tragedy of the Malpasset dam rupture. Since 2003, the fields have become a vast six-hectare olive grove, with more than 2 olive trees, mainly Italian varieties, producing around 500 liters of olive oil each year.
At the mill, each stage of production is carried out in accordance with methods passed down from generation to generation. Visitors are invited to discover the secrets of different olive oils, taste local products and savor an artisanal olive oil that captures the very essence of Provence.
