Acquired in 1952 by Marcel and Gilberte PAQUETTE, the Curebéasse estate has become, over the years and generations, one of the jewels of the Côtes de Provence Fréjus appellation.
Today known as Château PAQUETTE, it remains a family business run by Jérôme PAQUETTE, who passes on his passion for the land.
A little bit of history
The history of Château PAQUETTE dates back to Roman times, when Forum Julii (Fréjus) was founded. Agronomists such as Groecinus studied vine cultivation there, and their writings were widely recognized throughout the empire.
The first mention of Curebéasse, the place where our farm is located, appears on a 2013th century map, drawn up by Cassini at the request of Louis XIV. This name lasted until XNUMX, when our estate was renamed “Domaine de Curebéasse”.
Terroir
Nestled in its pine forest setting, Château Paquette is located halfway between the Mediterranean Sea and the Esterel massif. From this unique location, between sea spray and volcanic rock, was born an Appellation, signature of the typicality of our wines, the "Côtes de Provence Fréjus".
And, since the 2010 vintage, the vineyard has been enriched with new vines located in the commune of Saint Raphaël, in Agay, a little gem hidden in the middle of the Estérel scrubland and only a few hundred meters from the beach.
The story of Château PAQUETTE is the story of a family who fell under the spell of a unique place, more than 60 years ago: A vineyard nestled in the heart of the Provençal pine forest, set on the volcanic rock of the Estérel and rocked by the sea spray.

Visits and tastings
The Château PAQUETTE counter invites you to explore the vineyards, surrounded by the landscapes of the Estérel, the Barre du Rouet and the Rocher de Roquebrune. Depending on the season, you will be able to observe the phenological stages* of the grape varieties and the viticultural work essential to the quality of our grapes and our wines.
Back at the estate, you will have the opportunity to participate in a guided tasting of our wines, during which we will share our passion, our terroir and the wines that come from it.
Wines
The quality of the wine is cultivated above all in the vineyard, because it is the vineyard that provides us with the essential raw material for winemaking: the grape. The work in the cellar highlights the personality of our terroir, thus revealing wines of character, both gourmet and delicate. In keeping with our commitment to the land, we have just obtained organic farming certification for our vines.
We cultivate around thirty hectares of vines, which we carefully support throughout the seasons, always in harmony with the terroir and according to good peasant sense. Reasoned management of yields and attentive agriculture promote the full expression of the specificities of our land. Thus, we only use plant composts and manure to fertilize our vines, and working the soil remains essential to maintain a living and expressive land. In order to concretize our eco-responsible approach, our vineyard has recently been certified in organic farming. The 2014 vintage will bear the "Organic Wine" label.
The lodge of the five grape varieties
Jérôme and Sophie PAQUETTE are delighted to offer you authentic accommodation, with a breathtaking view of the vines throughout the season.
This is a beautiful 120 m² apartment, located within our organic wine estate. Facing south and located above the cellar, it offers a clear view of the vineyard.
Just 1 km from the motorway exit and a few kilometres from the beaches, the Gîte des Cinq Cépages is the ideal place to enjoy the Côte d'Azur without the hustle and bustle of the crowds. Walks along the seaside and in the Esterel massif are just a few minutes away, while the Verdon Gorges can be reached in an hour's drive.
Other Fréjus areas
Château Paquette labeled “Terre d'Esterel”
For thousands of years, the imposing red rocks of the Esterel have blended harmoniously with the azure waters of the Mediterranean. At the heart of this landscape, the vines thrive, true guardians of Provence. These grandiose panoramas, where sky and earth meet endlessly, encourage contemplation.
Under the generous Mediterranean sun, these lands, spoiled by the sun, reveal an exceptional richness. The terroir, born from the fire of the volcanoes and sculpted by time, is magnified by our winegrowers, who perpetuate ancestral know-how.
