Coastal cycle route: 140 km from Sanary-sur-Mer to Montauroux

Seasonality
For 3 major reasons, it is better to:

– Practice this cycle route at the beginning or end of the season to avoid extreme heat,
– Use this cycle route outside the summer holiday period, as the Var route follows coastal routes or those very close by, and tourist numbers are at their peak there,
– Avoid the Fréjus <> Montauroux section which uses the DFCI (Forest Fire Protection Paths) of the Esterel Massif during periods of drought and high winds (mistral), as the DFCI may be closed to all traffic for these two reasons.
However, the cycle route is passable all year round, far from the hustle and bustle of the coast in summer and on a route that is still little used in winter.
