The Maurice Giuge Municipal Swimming Pool in Fréjus has a main pool with a unique history. Formerly used by the Fréjus naval air base, this facility is a testament to the city's rich military history.

For decades, the base played a strategic role in the training of naval aviation crews, particularly in aquatic survival. Its immersion pool was used for military training, simulating the rescue of submerged aircraft and helicopter crews. Originally even deeper, it was adjusted to its current depth of 6,5 meters during its complete renovation in 2002. The modernized pool was named in honor of Maurice Giuge, the city's former sports director, who devoted many years to the development of sports in Fréjus. Today, it offers a varied aquatic area with a 25 x 10 m sports pool, a leisure pool, a paddling pool, a whirlpool, and children's games, providing activities for all ages.
