Since 2023, the Provençal pointu “La Mouette de Port-Fréjus” has been labeled a Boat of Heritage Interest (BIP), a precious distinction which recognizes the historical and cultural value of this traditional boat.
Built in 1927 in Marseille, “La Mouette” was used as a fishing boat for several decades.
This label is awarded by the Bureau de Patrimoine Maritime et Fluvial, an institution created in 1992 to protect French maritime heritage. This certification highlights Fréjus' desire to preserve and promote its maritime heritage.
