The Fréjus Arena is celebrating four decades of legendary concerts with a unique exhibition.
Starting Saturday, May 24, visitors to the amphitheater will be able to discover an exceptional exhibition dedicated to 40 years of shows at the Arènes de Fréjus.
Installed in the southern part of the building, this retrospective pays tribute to the cultural and musical wealth that marked the city between the 1960s and 2000s.
The project began with a simple idea: to adorn the upper ambulacrum of the Arena. But under the impetus of Fréjus resident Yann Guilleux, a passionate collector, the idea became a grand historical fresco, supported by the City and its Archaeology and Heritage Department.
Seventeen panels retrace this epic journey through 500 photos, 100 concert tickets, 50 press articles, period posters, and documents from the municipal archives and Var-Matin. Visitors can relive concerts by Édith Piaf, Téléphone, Tina Turner, and Radiohead in a uniquely atmospheric setting.
This exhibition, included in the amphitheater admission price, is a visual and emotional journey. For many, these memories still resonate. A beautiful way to say, "I was there."
