An unmissable event in the Côte d'Azur autumn, the International Air Festival displays its range of offerings beyond generations and borders.
A major event in the South of France, it takes off every October at the François Léotard Nature Base for editions overflowing with energy and creativity.
Welcome to Fréjus, a land of daring and thrills!
Open to the sky and the horizon, the Fréjus International Air Festival (FIA) has, in its own way for over 20 editions, sought to help the general public discover a world that is at once fun, sporty and poetic, allowing them to feel sensations and experience emotions.
Placed under the sign of passion and sharing, highlighted by the talents gathered together by kite pilots from all over the world combining mastery, technical precision and above all a touch of madness, the Fréjus festival is above all a captivating festive event on a human scale.
Since encounters make for the most beautiful journeys, the Tourist Office's organizing team is deploying its energy to create new bridges in order to always broaden the scope of possibilities a little more.
A festival that sets the tone!
The next edition, organized by the Tourist Office on behalf of the City of Fréjus, will take place in October 2023 on the shores of the Mediterranean, at the François Léotard Nature Base.
Before it became an exceptional site bordered by the Big Blue and dedicated to outdoor recreation, the Nature Base was the cradle of French aeronautics and the site of major experiments. From the beginning, in 1913 it offered the ideal conditions that allowed Roland Garros to take off from this unrivaled spot for the combined feat of two successful world firsts:
the first crossing of the Mediterranean and by this same feat, the first intercontinental raid linking Europe to Africa!
The Nature Base will deploy its charming assets for the FIA for a grandiose ephemeral spectacle.
Sports enthusiasts, enthusiasts, lovers of the great outdoors, families, holidaymakers… everyone will be able to rediscover their inner child. The festival offers a complete range of air-related disciplines over a weekend “in the wind”: traditional, artistic, acrobatic kites, UlM, XXL giant structures…
The kite in all its forms becomes a source of sharing and discovery thanks to the diversity of free activities on offer: wind gardens, numerous workshops for children, awareness-raising actions for environmental protection, etc.
Tens of thousands of visitors, young and old, are expected at the start of the autumn holidays for a colourful spectacle.
A great family outing in perspective under the flamboyant colors of an Indian summer, Frejus style #chezNousc'estchezVous!
