The city of Fréjus is pleased to announce the arrival of the famous mathematician and former MP Cédric Villani for an exceptional conference organized as part of the Forum Iulii series.
Winner of the Fields Medal – the world's highest distinction in mathematics – and engaged in the public debate on major scientific, ethical and societal issues, Cédric Villani will speak on the theme: "Repairing the world: the role of the scientist in today's crises."

This conference will address the essential role that scientists can play in the face of the major challenges of the 21st century: climate change, technological transformations, health and social crises, geopolitical instability, etc. Through his unique career and public engagement, Cédric Villani will question the place of knowledge, expertise and scientific responsibility in an era in search of benchmarks.

The event will be held on Tuesday, June 24 at 19 p.m. at Villa Aurélienne and will be followed by a discussion with the public.
