The beaches of Fréjus

The beaches stretch for 8 km between Fréjus and Saint-Aygulf, including one of the largest wild beaches in the eastern Var, bordered by a magnificent dune belt.
This beach offers a naturist area open from June to September, as well as an area where dogs on a leash are allowed, near the Argens first aid station.
Between Saint-Aygulf and Les Issambres, over 3,5 km, the calanques offer picturesque coves accessible via the customs officers' path.

Beach surveillance

The beaches of Fréjus are supervised daily from the 1st Friday in June to the 3rd Sunday in September inclusive. Eight first aid stations, open from 9am to 19pm, are manned by firefighters, ensuring the safety of bathers and intervening in the event of an incident.
These posts also broadcast useful information: water and air temperatures, bacteriological quality of the water, marking plans and bathing permits.

  • Red flag : swimming prohibited
  • Orange flag : dangerous but supervised swimming
  • Green flag : safe supervised swimming

A leaflet updated each year provides information on beach safety.
