Château Paquette, formerly the Curebéasse estate, remains a family business that Jérôme, the 3rd generation of Paquette, decided to convert to organic.
Trained as an oenologist, he works as a consultant for many winegrowers in Provence and beyond. But his passion remains this land that saw him grow up and for which he invests all his experience with love every day. Investments in modern equipment continue, while maintaining the spirit of authentic production, in the care of the terroir, the vineyard and the wines.
“Thanks to our commitment and respect for our land, we have obtained organic farming certification for our vines. The 2014 vintage bears the “Organic Wine” label. Our wines have become one of the jewels of the Côtes de Provence Fréjus appellation, cited as examples by many critics, from Robert Parker to Jacques Dupont.”
WINES
* Cuvée Angelico Rosé – Côtes de Provence Fréjus
Pale, bright, salmon-pink color, intense and complex nose with aromas of pear, lychee and citrus fruits supported by spicy notes of cinnamon, cloves, while remaining very floral. The whole is punctuated by notes of minerality which maintain all the aromatic freshness. Complex palate with a finesse and a roundness of great delicacy, slightly toasted finish, very long and fresh. Storage: 2 to 3 years
* Black Rocks Red – Côtes de Provence Fréjus
“Vanilla and smoky nose complemented by notes of blackberry and raspberry. Powerful red with silky tannins that reveals aromas of scrubland, cistus and pine sap. The finish opens with roasted notes typical of the volcanic soil of the Fréjus terroir. Keep: 10 to 15 years”.
* Cuvée Forum Julii Blanc
“Dry and supple and delicate, with aromas of exotic fruits. Spicy and minty, balsamic notes, tender and persistent in the mouth. Well balanced”. Well-balanced wine for laying down: 1 to 2 years in its freshness. 10 years and more for a maturation of spices and candied fruits.
