The magical summer dates!

Summer in Fréjus would not be complete without its fireworks, true ballets of light that set the sky ablaze. While the city enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year, it is in the summer night that it shines brightly, illuminating the horizon every Monday in July and August.

Shot from the sea, facing Port-Fréjus, these majestic shows are the most anticipated events of the season.
Every week, the people of Fréjus and holidaymakers flock to the beaches, their eyes fixed on the infinite sky, ready to be enchanted. When the first explosions erupt in the night, a gentle magic sets in, the breath taken away, the artificial stars mixing with the real ones.

Here is one of our recipes for happiness... Imagine yourself, with your feet in the sand, a carefully prepared picnic, surrounded by those you love. The sea as your accomplice, the sky as your theater, and suddenly, time seems suspended. It is an invitation to dream, to create unforgettable memories, here, under the enchanted skies of Fréjus.

Parking is available near Port-Fréjus and the seafront. The parking lot at the nature reserve is the most popular, but be aware of traffic jams after the fireworks display! There is also parking near the Port-Fréjus harbor master's office.

The Tourist Office's "tip": park in the historic center and enjoy a walk down to the seaside!

We recommend the "caouanne" beach just before the entrance to the nature base or the iconic Port-Fréjus footbridge (but very often popular with many observers!

With the exception of the inter-municipal fireworks display on July 14th and the two pyrotechnic events in Port Fréjus on July 20th and 27th, the fireworks displays are directly managed by the Fréjus Tourist Office, as part of its mission to promote the destination, thus allowing the City to save money while maintaining a high level of quality and excitement.

Funded by the tourist tax collected by the Office, these pyrotechnic shows perfectly embody the vision of tourism in Fréjus: here, tourism is not just an economic activity, it is a way to create connections, to give pleasure and to generously bring different audiences together.

No. Fireworks represent a localized and time-limited form of pollution. Combustion occurs primarily at high altitudes, which promotes rapid dispersal of the residue. The impact is therefore very different from that of a continuous source of pollution (road traffic, heating, industry).

Fireworks are composed primarily of black powder, a mixture of coal, sulfur, and potassium nitrate. This fuel is completely burned during the explosion, minimizing residue on the ground.

Some of the particles are indeed emitted during combustion, but:

  • They are emitted in very small quantities compared to other human activities.
  • They are widely dispersed in the atmosphere
  • The effects are diffuse and temporary.

Studies show that the increase in fine particles during a fireworks display is brief, generally limited to a few hours.

The impact exists but remains small and very localized in time. By comparison, a day of heavy traffic or a winter heating episode generates much higher emissions.

The professionals clean the site after the show to recover unburned materials (cardboard boxes, ignition devices). The materials used are mostly biodegradable.

Eyes to the sky for an exceptional show!

Fireworks in Fréjus: a holiday memory

We have been coming to Fréjus every year for 20 years, and every summer we look forward to the Monday night fireworks. It has become our family tradition: we sit by the sea, enjoy an ice cream while admiring the fireworks display. These moments are truly magical and add a special touch to our holidays. Fréjus has created unforgettable memories for us, and each firework is a real moment of joy that we cherish

Watching the fireworks in Fréjus is an unforgettable experience, especially in the summer. Every Monday evening, the sky off Port-Fréjus lights up with vibrant colours, offering a magical pyrotechnic display. This highlight is made even more enjoyable by the festive atmosphere of the night market that takes place at the same time. You can stroll among the lively stalls, discover local products and savour gourmet specialities while getting ready for the show.
After exploring the market, you can stroll along the quays of the Port, where the atmosphere is particularly charming. The quays offer a splendid view of the fireworks, while allowing you to enjoy the sea breeze and the twinkling lights of the port. This perfect combination of the vibrant market, the seaside promenade, and the fireworks creates a magical evening that you will not soon forget.

Ice cream and fireworks: the ecstasy of the senses

To fully enjoy the magic of an evening under the bright stars, there is one irresistible pleasure that should not be overlooked: that of the taste buds.
Add to the beauty of the sky the delight of a melting ice cream, and happiness will be total. From Port-Fréjus to Fréjus-Plage, the night walk would not be complete without a stop at an ice cream parlor.
Master ice cream maker or simple Italian ice cream, let yourself be tempted... Here, the choice of flavors is as infinite as the explosions of colors that light up the night.
One, two or three scoops? Creamy vanilla, tangy strawberry, intense basil… A crunchy cone or a delicate pot? Sitting facing the sea or strolling on the beach? Each bite is a caress, each flavor a promise of sweetness.
The freshness of an ice cream that melts gently on the tongue while the sky lights up… At that moment, everything becomes delicious, and the evening, pure enchantment.

Fréjus Christmas fireworks

The “bonus” fireworks: the one on December 25!

In Fréjus, when the opportunity arises, the city offers a spectacular fireworks display on December 25th off the coast of Port-Fréjus. This pyrotechnic show is a magnificent way to end the Christmas meal in style. However, it is important to note that this fireworks display is not held every year. To avoid missing this festive event, it is advisable to consult the Christmas holiday program. This way, you can check if the fireworks display is planned for this year and prepare yourself to enjoy this wonderful tradition.

A year of events in Fréjus!
