Welcome to the gargantuan world of the GIANT OMELETTE OF SAINT-AYGULF!
Each village in the Var has its own little local pride; here, we don't do things by halves, we make... omelettes. But be careful, not just any omelette!
When we say “giant”, we’re not kidding: imagine a frying pan 3,20 metres in diameter! Yes, you read that right. A real omelette pool. And inside, it’s an egg party: 15.000 fresh eggs, 5 kg of salt, 15 litres of oil (we like it when it shines) and, because we know how to do things with finesse, a whole bucket of fine herbs. Just that!
Then, it's time for the big show! With giant spatulas adapted to the size of the pan – did you think the utensils were going to be small? – we mix everything with precision and passion. It's an art worthy of the greatest culinary competitions, with a touch of spectacle.
And the cherry on the omelette? It is prepared with love by the Knights of the Brotherhood of the Giant Omelette (yes, it exists and it's serious!). All you have to do is taste it. And take our word for it, having tasted it... it's as good as it is huge!
